Objective

Students know how to explain the relation between structure and function of cells and tissues. Students are able to use the basic concepts of structure and function related to the musculoskeletal system. They know the skeletal structure in detail. Students know how to describe the structure and function of joints. Students can name muscles and describe their location and function. They can use professional terminology of the musculoskeletal system. Students orientate themselves recognizing musculoskeletal anatomical structures by palpapation and sonopalpation.

Structure and function of the musculoskeletal system
Significance of cell membrane to signal transfer
Tissues
Anatomical levels and dimensions as well as terminology related to joints
Types of synostoses and their features
Detailed skeletal structure
Bones, joints and muscles of the upper limbs, lower limbs, trunk and neck
Cranial bones, temporomandibular joint and masticatory muscles
Professional terminology of structures
Recognizing musculoskeletal anatomical structures by palpapation and sonopalpation.
