Objective

The students will be able to explain and report the general principles of basic x-ray examinations and any related digital imaging and examinations. They will also be able to evaluate the process considering the factors affecting image quality and dose optimisation (technical quality criteria and the quality criteria related to examinations). The students are able to explain and report the general principles of carrying out basic x-ray examinations:
- Familiarity with and the ability to carry out the commonest basic x-ray examinations

The students are familiar with the evaluation process related to examinations:
- Familiarity with the technical and examinational quality criteria (optimisation principle) of the commonest basic x-ray examinations
- Familiarity with the quality assurance recommendations related to basic x-ray examinations

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to explain and report the general principles of carrying out basic x-ray examinations:
- Fluency and readiness to carry out the commonest basic x-ray examinations

The students are familiar with the evaluation process related to examinations:
- Fluency with the technical and examinational quality criteria (optimisation principle) of the commonest basic x-ray examinations
- Fluency with the quality assurance recommendations related to basic x-ray examinations

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to explain and report the general principles of carrying out basic x-ray examinations:
- Fluency and readiness to carry out the commonest basic x-ray examinations
- Ability for critical assessment of the principles for carrying out basic x-ray examinations

The students are familiar with the evaluation process related to examinations:
- Fluency with the technical and examinational quality criteria (optimisation principle) of the commonest basic x-ray examinations
- Fluency with the quality assurance recommendations related to basic x-ray examinations
- Ability for critical assessment of the technical and other quality criteria of basic x-ray examinations in accordance with quality assurance recommendations.
