Learning outcomes

Students are aware of the consistence of blood and its physiological significance. They are able to explain the structures and functions of the vascular and respiratory systems and their regulation. Students master the structure of the lymphatic system and are able to explain its function in the defence system, fluid circulation and fat absorption. They can explain the structure and function of the digestive organs and their regulation. Students are able to describe the connection between the structure and function of the urinary system and understand the regulation of the function. They understand the significance of the amount of the extracellular fluid and the regulation of osmotic pressure. Students are able to explain the balance mechanism of pH value and the pathogenetic mechanism of respiratory and metabolic dysfunctions concerning pH value. They are able to describe the basic mechanism of temperature regulation of the body. Students can explain the structure and function of the reproductive organs as well as the regulation of their function. They understand the significance of endocrine system for regulating functions of the body and demonstrate it by knowing the hormonal production of glands and the effects of hormones on target cells. Students master the structure of sensory organs and the basics of their function. Students know how to use foreign terminology of the main structures.
