They are familiar with the protective equipment needed in live performance engineering work and uses the equipment when needed. They can prevent fires in live performance venues. They know how to work safely in fall-risk zones. They are able to work safely with the electronic systems related to live performance engineering. They can work safely with the most common tools, and can use chemicals common in live performance activities in a safe way. They can handle and suspend live performance technological equipment safely.

Each competence involves familiarization with the learning material, contact teaching, an exercise task and the actual independent assignment. In addition, compact group assignments are performed in connection with contact teaching. The assignments for each competency will be published in the Classroom according to the contact teaching schedule and will be spread throughout the fall. At the end of the course, a questionnaire-based decision and feedback task is made.
