Objective

The course will be the test for the student before the graduation for the conservation profession. After the course student will be able to recognize his/her strengths of know-how and also the needs for personal improving and further development. Student will orientate to the idea of lifelong learning.

Content

Course can be organized different years either as a written examination or essay, or open learning. Course emphasizes independent work.

Materials

Tutorial guidelines and a written exam material will be distributed at the beginning of the course.

Teaching methods

A written dissertation that includes independent information gathering, textual production and oral presentation of the thesis, 3 ects.
Written exam on the area of ??paper conservation, which will be assigned before the beginning of the course, 2 ects.

Student workload

The weekly working hours of a student is 1,5 cr which is equivalent to 40 hours of studies. 40 hours is formed from approx. 22 hours of contact studies with a lecturer. The remaining hours is spent by independent literature survey or practical work. 1 credit (cr) is equivalent to 26 hours (h).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Student has reached satisfactory level on the written exam or essay and conceivable course assignments.
The capacity to formulate relevant problems associated with wholeness is faint. The reasoning is faint and student has many gaps in former studies.
Student has not given a requisite amount of attention for the subject and the result of the course is unbalanced.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Student has reached a good level on the written exam or essay and conceivable course assignments.
Student is able to understand the basic motifs of the course. The reasoning is competent and student has no gaps in former studies. Student has given a requisite amount of attention for the subject and the result of the course is balanced.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The course objectives have been achieved in a competent manner. Student has reached excellent level on the written exam or essay and conceivable course assignments.
Student masters the motifs of the course and prerequisites and is able to show that he/she can apply theoretical studies to a practical work. The reasoning is professional and student can validate causes and consequences of one's choice.
Student is able to master the whole of subject both theoretically and practically.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student carries out the open learning studies in an approved manner. Student takes part to the learning sessions in a sufficient level.
