Objective
After completion of the course student knows the specifics of book conservation, deterioration mechanisms of book and different conservation methods, including digitizing and preservation methods and strategies.
Student can handle the deterioration mechanisms of a book, can prepare a damage report and is able to conserve a book in practice.
Content
Basics of book conservation. Library collections - their handling, microfilming, digitizing and long term preservation.
Essay based on an article. Broad vision about preservation and conservation strategies of library collections.
