Location and time
Studying is completely independent and lasts for one period. At the beginning of the course the info session is held via Zoom. Independent work is estimated to be about 80 hours. Time management and adherence of deadlines are important.

Content scheduling
Current issues in Finnish and Russian social work, healthcare, business and technology. Inflection of numerals, passive voice, participles. Non-finite clauses.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student has reached the learning outcomes of the course at a minimum acceptable level. The student can interact satisfactorily both orally and in writing in communicative situations studied during the course. The student can use the achieved knowledge in new situations only partly.

The student has reached the learning outcomes of the course at a good level. The student can interact quite fluently both orally and in writing in communicative situations studied during the course. The student can use the achieved knowledge in new situations with some limitations.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student has reached the learning outcomes of the course at an excellent level. The student can fluently interact both orally and in writing in various communicative situations. The student can confidently use the achieved knowledge in new situations.
Teaching methods
Language of instructions: Finnish, English and Russian. Online course: students work totally independently. By the end of the course, students will know the basic Russian terminology and understand texts on social and health care, business and technology.
Further information
Venäjä/Russian 4 or equivalent skills. Students speaking Russian as the mother tongue are not generally accepted to the course. CERF entry level A2.2, target level B1.1.
