Learning outcomes
A student who has completed this course or has acquired equal knowledge will be able to • handle everyday life and work situations orally • master the basic skills of reading and writing common Chinese characters and interpreting their original “pictogram stories” and structures • communicate in Chinese-speaking countries considering their special cultural characteristics • take into account cultural diversity • plan their future language studies and start their exchange abroad.

Teaching methods
- In addition to the virtual materials in Moodle, an optional Zoom meeting will be held once a week throughout the course. - For those who cannot attend the optional Zoom sessions, a recorded video of each session will be released weekly to guide your self-paced learning.

Exam dates and retake possibilities
- There is no traditional exam. - Instead, two holistic assignments (one oral and one written) will be released in Moodle at the beginning of the last week of the course.
