Arviointikriteerit
The grading of this course is formed from the evaluation of: the final practice and from the student’s self-evaluation and reflection on her or his learning process. Evaluation of this course is based on the course objectives. Familiarizing to the materials and putting the main ideas in practice in the context of work are being valued. If the task completion will not be graded it will be mentioned in the task description. If the student´s performance level of the course objectives shows less than 40% the grade will be given by the teacher as failed.

This course includes eight sections. You can study the course at your own pace. Please take note, that there are deadlines with the last two tasks (the final task and self-evaluation). The course is open from the 14th of September and will be closed on the 15th of December, 2024

The Employment relations and co-operation course (5 ECTS [European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits]) belongs to the advanced special studies (65 ECTS) of the syllabus of a community educator who is specialised in workplace development. This course is worth 5 ECTS (the link will open in a new tab), which requires around 133 hours of study. The calculated value of 1 ECTS is 27 hours of work. Taking this course consists of carefully familiarising oneself with the materials and completing the tasks with an acceptable level of comprehension. It is essential that you reserve enough time for completing the tasks. The last, final task is the one that requires most time end effort, but the tasks in the previous chapters will help you in completing the last task. In the National Framework of Qualifications the course belongs to level 6. This course belongs to the module: `Co-operation as a Basis of Wellbeing at Work´ in Humak University of Applied Sciences´ community educator´s studies. In Module `Co-operation as a Basis of Wellbeing at Work´ the learner familiarises herself or himself with the essential legislation in Finland regulating personnel processes and practices in the world of work. The learner will understand the significance of co-operation as a fundamental part of workplace well-being. On this module, we will deepen our understanding of the significance of the work that workplace developers perform in their workplace communities. The tasks included in this module enhance the skills of a workplace developer and assist in building her or his professional identity.
Opetusmenetelmät
Taking this course happens on Hoodle learning platform and workspace, so you will need a computer with an internet connection. All the tasks and materials are being found in Hoodle workspace and the tasks will be submitted for evaluation with Hoodle, too. Also, the communication during the course is done by using Hoodle discussion forums.

This course helps you to familiarize yourself with the laws and contracts that regulate word of work in Finland and learns to apply them. After taking the course, the student knows the roles, responsibilities and obligations of the working parties and understands the meaning of collective bargaining. The course deals with labor legislation, employment contract law, collective action law, the collective agreement system and other general regulations governing working life and their application at a general level. In addition, the different stages of the employment relationship and the legal and contractual basis affecting each of them are discussed, as well as the potential for the productivity and success of the company related to good cooperation, as well as the practices of working life. The course strengthens the knowledge base needed for local bargaining and is suitable for anyone interested in the structures that guide working life. The student needs a computer, office programs and a network connection.
