Harjoittelu- ja työelämäyhteistyö

The content of studying Finnish will help you cope in everyday situations and in the workplace in Finnish. In this course you will create your own video CV in Finnish.

Tenttien ajankohdat ja uusintamahdollisuudet

Lessons, presentation and exam schedule given on the first lesson. 13 lessons and 1 exam. Possibility to retake the exam if failed.

Kansainvälisyys

Moodle is used as support in teaching. HILL is used for lectures. Camera and simple video editing software, such as student's own phone, are used for creating a video CV.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

If you have a higher education certificate of level B1.1, you can apply for recognition of prior learning in eServices. If you don't have a certificate but you have skills in Finnish in the B1.1 level, contact the teacher. RPL (AHOT) exam is possible in the beginning of the course.

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

Evaluation may be based on: - Video CV - Oral presentation - Group project work - Exam - Continuous evaluation by teacher as well as by student - Subject to changes

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

The student is expected to familiarise themself with the subjects of the lessons independently and actively construct their own language skills. About 108 hours of student work (30 hours lessons and 78 hours of independent work). Students must be present 75% of lectures.

Student - communicates in everyday life - understands the main points and some details in general speech and text concerning everyday life - writes texts on familiar and everyday topics - uses common vocabulary and phrases - uses common structures

In addition to the lower grade requirements, student - communicates in common work-related communicative situations - tells about own history and future plans in different tenses - writes texts based in most common written situations, errors are not annoying - uses a wide basic vocabulary and phrases - uses different grammatical structures

In addition to the lower grade requirements, student - uses extensive basic language efficiently - uses common cohesive devices - masters the basic grammar structures and uses them independently

Opetusmenetelmät

The student becomes more familiar with different types of text and everyday and working life themes. The student is able to follow a discussion based on general knowledge and general experience and read a wide range of texts, a few pages long. The student can also tell some details about familiar things and communicate things that are important to them. The student is able to use a fairly extensive everyday vocabulary and some common phrases and idioms as well as several different structures. The student is able to effectively convey familiar information in the most common forms of written communication. Classification of competence: basic level CEFR (Common European Framework Reference level) B1.1, effective basic language skill

Lisätietoja opiskelijoille

The course requires independent effort from the student. Materials for self-studying can be found on Moodle and with active online searches. Students must be present 75% of lectures.
