Do you want to develop into a purchasing professional that brings clear savings to your organization? In addition to that, added value, success and profitability? Purchasing know-how is all of this! Competences to be promoted in the course: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING You understand the role and significance of procurement in organizations and networks. You are familiar with the procurement process and the most significant special characteristics of different sectors. You understand the importance of total cost management and identify procurement opportunities from the perspective of responsibility and sustainable development. You have an overall picture of the opportunities and challenges of procurement in business development. PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF TECHNOLOGY You will identify opportunities to apply methods and techniques to carry out procurement professionally. COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK From a procurement perspective, you identify stakeholders with whom you can communicate effectively.

Teaching methods

This is a nonstop course. Student may enroll to the course during 1.8.-31.5. There are three (3) different time periods inside the nonstop course: - Course studied by 30.8.- 10.12. - Course studied by 11.12.- 20.4. - Course studied by 21.4.- 31.7. Student chooses the time period in the virtual study environment. Student can create own time schedule for the assignments and tasks within the selected time period. If the virtual study environment has not opened for you within 2 weeks after enrollment, please contact the course teacher. The calculated workload is the number of credits times 27 hours. In the 5 credit course, the workload is 135h.

E-learning environment material and the following course book: van Weele, Arjan. 2010 or 2018. Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. Cengage Learning. Exam dates and retake possibilities

This implementation utilizes subject exams as part of learning tasks. Subject exams are taken online on own time independently. Material can be utilized during exams.
