Learning outcomes
After completing the course, you will: -Understand the importance of competence management for organizational success and renewal. -Identify key processes and practices in competence management and development. -Be able to apply tools for recognizing, developing, and utilizing competence in an organizational environment. -Understand the role of supervisors and experts as enablers and supporters of competence development. -Be able to examine competence development from strategic, operational, and individual perspectives.
Content
How is competence managed to support organizational success, renewal, and employee development? This course dives into the core of competence management in a practical and engaging way. You will learn how to identify, develop, and utilize competence at the individual, team, and organizational levels. The course offers you current perspectives and concrete tools that you can directly apply in the workplace, whether you are a future supervisor, an expert, or simply interested in developing your work community. Come and enhance your expertise for the future of work! The topics of the course include: -the importance of competence management and its connection to strategy processes and practices of competence development -identifying competence at individual, team, and organizational levels, as well as anticipating competence needs -development discussions, career discussions, and continuous learning the role of supervisors and experts as enablers of competence -creating an action plan for competence development. This course is suitable for you if you want to work in a leadership position or if you are already in a supervisory role and want to enhance your skills. The course is also suitable for those working in or aspiring to work in HR specialist roles.

Student workload
Yksi opintopiste vastaa noin 27 tunnin työtä. Mahdollisuutesi oppia ja kehittyä tällä opintojaksolla vie keskimäärin 81 tuntia aikaasi. Koko opintojakson ajalle jaettuna se tarkoittaa noin 9-10 tunnin viikoittaista työskentelyä.
Assessment methods and criteria
Opintojaksoon sisältyy yksi kokoava esseetehtävä, keskustelutehtävä sekä kaksi analyysitehtävää. Hyväksyttyyn suoritukseen vaaditaan edellä mainittujen tehtävien tekeminen.
