Location and time

The course is structured as an online, self-paced study, with initial guidance offered through a Zoom meeting provided via the Moodle learning environment. Guidance sessions will be offered via Zoom during the evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the beginning of the course. Three sessions will be organized, and recordings will be available for students who are unable to attend live. However, it is highly recommended that students participate in these sessions to make the most of the course. After these sessions, the students are expected to individually and independently progress with the project work.

Materials

The primary source of study materials will be provided by OutSystems. Students will utilize the OutSystems Personal Environment and Service Studio, the OutSystems low-code and visual development environment to complete assignments and project work. Moodle and Zoom will serve as additional learning platforms and channels to support students' progress throughout the course.

Content scheduling

At the beginning of the course, students are expected to attend guidance sessions and complete a guided online learning path provided by OutSystems to gain a foundational understanding of low-code development. Additionally, they will be asked to create a simple app under the guidance of the course instructors. Once this introductory phase is complete, students will move on to the project work, which involves building a reactive web app with various functionalities. The deadline for completing the project work will be at the end of the course. As a bonus opportunity, OutSystems offers a free certification, which students may pursue if they choose to do so. While certification is not required for the course, successfully completing the program can have a positive impact on the final course grade.
