Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Satisfactory (1-2): You know, remember and can explain basic information about business design. You can describe the different areas of business design. You know the different phases of business design. You know the prerequisites for business design.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Good (3-4): You can analyze and shape the business. You know how to acquire enough information to support business design. You know how to create ideas to shape a better business. You master business design methods and know how to apply them to different situations. You can plan and implement the business design process.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You can analyze and plan creatively and effectively business design, taking into account the needs of different stakeholders and the possibilities of the business environment. You know how to acquire sufficient information and create new information to support business design. You know how to solve the most common problems related to business design creatively and efficiently. You have an excellent command of different analysis and planning methods related to business design and you know how to creatively and effectively apply them to different situations. You will be able to create a better business and justifiably present superiority. You master different business design methods and apply them creatively and efficiently. You bring out new, innovative business design ideas.

Teaching methods

The course is studied independently online. You get feedback on your learning tasks from your fellow learners and you give feedback on your fellow learners' learning tasks. In Business Design studies learner will apply service and business design processes and methods in real life challenge of her/his choice. Core content is the double loop design and learning process in different phases: preparation, point of view, building understanding, generating ideas, designing protype and validation of hypothesis in business experimentations. The following topics are learned: screenplay, team building, bold step visioning, cover stroy visioning, design criteria, storytelling, customer journey, value proposition, business environment, business model, creative matrix, wall of ideas, innovation matrix, sketching, prototyping, risk assumption analysis, business experiments, validation and investment assessment.

Further information

Bring Your Own Device means using your own devices while studying or working on college premises. Learning at HAMK can be independent of time and classroom. Electronic learning materials are used in the study. HAMK’s Spark feedback system opens 7 days before the course/module ends and it stays open for 14 days after the end date. You may give course/module feedback via Pakki. A notification of the courses/modules (to whomyou have registered)for which feedback can be given appears on the desktop. You will always receive a notification on the student desktop when a course/module is ready for feedback. You will receive a reminder in HAMK's e-mail on the end date of the implementation, if you have not already given feedback before.
