Objective
The students will be able to recognize and analyze functional, structural, aesthetic and qualitative demands of the furniture. The students will be able to design furniture solutions that meet the requirements of usability and spatial design as a whole. Moreover, they will be able to apply generally used construction and material options in their designs. The students will be able to apply the principles of ergonomics and user-centered design into design work. The students will be able to take into account the aspects of production and practical execution, and will make technical drawings of their designs by using CAD softwares.
Content
• Built-in furniture: special features and requirements
• Principles of built-in furniture design: architecture and interior space design, functionality, materials and structures, quality and durability, proportions, requirements of public spaces, user-centered design and ergonomics.
• Design process: definition and evaluation of objectives, taking advantage of user information, creation, sketching, scale model, technical drawings
• Documentation and presentations
