Construction Contracts and Procurements (5 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course the student will know the different types of contract and implementation of building projects. The student will be able to choose a suitable contract type for an ordinary building project. The student will be familiar with different contract documents and legislation related to contracting. The student will be familiar with the contents of the general conditions of contract and the terms of contract in consultancy. The student will be familiar with the principles of procurement and creating subcontracts. The student will be able to create contracts for ordinary projects.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the parties and types of contracts of simple projects, as well as the related contract agreements.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to apply his/her knowledge of contracts, to create an ordinary piecework contract and to solve simple contract problems on the basis of a contract agreement and the terms of a contract.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to apply his/her knowledge of contracts proficiently, to choose a suitable contract type for a project and to create related documents. The student is able to solve problems on the basis of a contract and the terms of a contract.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is familiar with the parties and types of contracts of simple projects, as well as the related contract agreements.
