Learning outcomes

On completion of the course the student can describe computer-aided design methods and tools, and can explain the functioning principles of the programs and ways to use them. The student can select suitable software tools for different phases of a construction project and describe the opportunities of data transfer between programs and the possibilities of using different applications together. The student knows how to use IT applications for structural engineering to help in performing calculations.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to use the most common applications for structural engineering and masters the skills listed above. The student completes assignments satisfactorily.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to apply the learnt skills to new similar tasks. The student completes assignments satisfactorily and on time.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements above the student is interested in enhancing the productivity of BIM, and is able to invent new ways to complete the given assignments as well as give reasons for his/her choices. Returned assignments show the independent expert's touch.
