Learning outcomes

Students will implement the bachelor’s thesis plan they have prepared and write a final report. They will be able to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the bachelor’s thesis and identify different solutions. They will know how to use English sources of research data.

Content

- Implementation of the bachelor’s thesis with support of industry representatives and instructors.
- Workshops in methodology, academic writing and information gathering
- Preparing a written final report and presenting it in a seminar
- Peer evaluation

The teacher may give additional assignments as a pedagogical solution e.g. to cover for absence.

MATERIALS and assignments created by the teacher are protected under the Copyright law (404/61), and the teacher holds copyright to these creations. Assignments and materials may not be used other than in your own studies. The public distribution of these is only allowed with the permission of the teacher.

In case the student has received a decision for individual support, which can affect the completion of the study unit, the student should be in touch with the responsible teacher of the study unit directly after the ending of the enrolment period.

Assessment methods and criteria

A more detailed description of the thesis evaluation and the progress of the evaluation process can be read in the Moodle workspace from the "Evaluation and Publication" section of the Welfare Degree Programs thesis workspace. Each student in the reporting and publication phase should read the instructions described in the workspace in connection with the assessment process independently or with their thesis partner / group.

Student is able to:
- Apply professional knowledge in the field appropriately
- Use concepts and information in his field systematically
- Argue a course of action on the basis of research information and findings
- Find information and argue the use of his sources
- Work in various duties depending on the assignment
- Define the principles of and requirements for his actions
- Show that he has achieved the targets for core competence
- Find out the safety instructions concerning a word assignments and to act accordingly
- Act according to the relevant professional ethical principles
- Plan and guide the operation of multidisciplinary groups
- Communicate about professional issues
