Learning outcomes

The student
• understands the principles of project management related to construction projects and knows how to make construction and site planning
• is able to use planners tool-kit and can apply planning techniques
• understands the principles and importance of monitoring and controlling during a construction project
• gets readiness for project management needed in real estate management.

Content

• Construction project management
• Construction planning in the context of early decisions and planning techniques including: bar charts, line of balance, linear programming, network analysis, resources, monitoring and control
• Readiness for real estate related project management
• Exercises for putting planning into practice
• Case studies

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• knows the basic principles of construction projects and site management and knows the importance of planning before site execution
• knows the basics of the planner's tool kit and can solve some basic problems.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the criteria mentioned above, the student
• can explain the principles of construction projects and site management well and understands the importance of planning before site execution
• can solve planning, monitoring and control problems and use the key tools and techniques related to site management
• can explain and report their solutions clearly.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the criteria mentioned above, the student
• understands the theoretical background of the relevant concepts and methods, and is able to use that knowledge to thoroughly assess their suitability to various practical problems
• can apply the concepts and methods studied during the course also in more complicated contexts also in a creative manner
• can elaborately explain and report their solutions.
