Objective
The student
• understands the design and manufacture of various knitted textile structures
• knows the theory and concepts of knitting and how to recognise knitted structures and their properties
• knows different types of yarns and yarn numbering systems
• understands the influence of the knit structure and material on the surface structure and properties of the knitted textile and can evaluate the suitability of the knit for different purposes
• develops their creative expression in knitting and knows how to create ideas and implement knitted surfaces based on the given theme
• can apply the technical knowledge of knitting to practical creative exercises.

• Design and manufacture of knitted textile structures
• Effect of material and yarn on knitted textiles
• Creative application of knitted techniques

The student
• knows the basics of knitted textile design and manufacturing
• masters the theory of knitting and bonding structures
• knows the effects of material and structure on the properties and usability of knitted textiles
• masters the knitting hardware and computer program.

The student
• masters the basics of knitted textile design and manufacturing
• is well versed in knitting theory and bonding structures
• masters the effects of material and structure on the properties and usability of knitted textiles and is able to apply the technical knowledge of knitwear in practical exercises
• is well versed in knitting hardware and computer software.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student
• masters the basics of designing and manufacturing a well-knitted textile
• has an excellent command of knitting theory and bonding structures
• is well versed in the effects of material and structure on the properties and usability of knitted textiles and is able to apply the technical knowledge of knitwear in practical exercises
• masters and is able to skillfully use knitting equipment and a computer program.
