Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student:
- Understands the development of the new internet (Web3) in its historical context (Web1 ? Web2 ? Web3)
- Is familiar with the basic principles of blockchain, smart contracts, tokens, and virtual commerce
- Understands the fundamentals and potential of Web3 marketing
- Identifies the opportunities and risks of Web3 for the creative industries
- Is able to reflect on how Web3 may impact creative work and income from their own professional perspective in the creative field

- Web1, Web2, and Web3 – development trajectory and what is changing in the creative industries
- Blockchain – what it is and how it enables transparency and traceability
- Smart Contracts – automated agreements and royalties for artists
- Tokens (e.g., NFTs) – digital goods and monetization opportunities
- Virtual marketplaces and marketing – new sales platforms, visibility, and direct audience relationships
- Ecological sustainability

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

To pass the course, the student must:
- Understand key concepts: demonstrate basic understanding of blockchain, smart contracts, tokens, and the significance of Web3 in the creative industries
- Apply what they have learned: describe how Web3 could impact their chosen area within the creative field
- Create a mini-project (e.g., concept idea or draft of a Web3 application) that demonstrates understanding of the course topics
- Reflect on their learning with justified viewpoints
