Objective
After completing the course, the student:
• is able to independently deepen their skills in academic writing
• can search for suitable postgraduate study opportunities in the field of cultural wellbeing after completing a Master’s (Ylempi AMK or university) degree
• is able to apply their understanding in writing a high-quality research plan
Content
This course is intended for students in the final stages of their master’s studies (or those who have already graduated) who wish to deepen their research expertise in the field of cultural wellbeing. It is particularly suitable for those planning to apply for doctoral studies or to write an article based on their master's thesis.
The course consists of workshop sessions that cover forming a research plan and provide an overview of the aims and requirements of doctoral studies.

Online teaching:
• Session 1: Monday 18 August 2025, 17:00–19:00 (Sanna Kivijärvi & Laura Huhtinen-Hildén)
• Session 2: Thursday 18 September 2025, 15:00–17:00 (Laura Huhtinen-Hildén)
Teaching methods
This course is intended for students in the final stages of their master’s studies (or those who have already graduated), who wish to deepen their research expertise in the field of cultural wellbeing. It is particularly suitable for those planning to apply for doctoral studies or to write an article based on their master's thesis.
The course consists of two joint workshop sessions that cover forming a research plan and provide an overview of the aims and requirements of doctoral studies. In addition to these group sessions, the course includes individual and group assignments that support the structuring of one’s research topic within the field of cultural wellbeing. Alongside peer group tasks and reflection, some assignments will receive individualised feedback from the teachers.
