Objective
After the course the students will have an understanding of:
• Internal and external communication planning
• Integrated marketing communication
• Controversial and current topics in global business
• Communication tools used in integrated marketing communication (IMC)
Content
This is an introductory course in Business Communication strategies. The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the role of communication in directing and managing people in and outside of your network and organization for various purposes from instructions and key discussions to marketing and crisis communication. Students will gain knowledge of communication planning through integrated marketing communication (IMC) practices, use tools and methods to communicate effectively to selected audiences and learn about controversial issues impacting communication for global business.
Materials
All required readings will be handed out in class or online platform for the course.
Teaching methods
Each day of class we will go over key topics via a lecture introducing you to the key topics and concepts covered that day. These are designed to help you understand the material and deepen your learning of the subject matter. There will be a mix of lectures, case discussion and in class assignments to engage with the topic.
