Social Pedagogical Methods (5 cr)

Objective

The student

• understands the characteristics of the social pedagogical approach and can apply them in the selection of methods
• is able to plan, implement and evaluate social pedagogical methods
• understands the significance of imagination, creativity and bodiliness in the functioning and well-being of individuals and communities
• enhances their counselling and reflection skills and deepens their understanding of the chosen method or phenomenon.

Content

• Social pedagogical approach

• Creative, functional and experiential social pedagogical methods

• Applied art education and ecosocial education

• Setting objectives, planning and evaluating activities

• Reflection skills and the development of own methodological skills

• Early childhood education and care students focus on supporting children, families and communities with social pedagogical methods

• Simple Finnish vocabulary and expressions used in interaction with different clients
