Objective

Student
- is able to act according to ethical principles in elderly care
- understands the impact of functional capacity and its changes on the ability of the elderly to carry out daily activities in their living environment
- understands the importance of home care in supporting the quality of life and functional capacity of the elderly and is able to promote the independence, safety and overall well-being of the elderly
- can identify the most common diseases of the elderly, their symptoms and their impact on functional capacity
- understands the importance of nutrition and oral health in the health and functional capacity of the elderly
- can assess and implement drug therapy for the elderly, taking into account the effects of ageing on the body.

Ethical principles and decision-making in elderly care
Domains of functional capacity, assessment methods and resource orientation
The impact of ageing and the environment on functional capacity and the ability to carry out activities of daily living in different environments
The most common diseases of the elderly and their impact on functional capacity
The significance of nutrition and oral health for an ageing person
Cooperation with family and loved ones in elderly care
Specific aspects of drug therapy for the elderly
