Learning outcomes
The student will be able to
• identify questions and needs for development in their professional field and working life and plan solutions to them in accordance with the principles of sustainable development
• use reliable information from various sources to base and frame their work
• apply their professional knowledge and appropriate methods and working methods in their development work.

• Familiarisation with the thesis process
• Contractual and permitting practices
• Familiarisation with the environment and planning of cooperation with working life
• Identifying the need for development
• Source-critical information gathering in Finnish and English
• Choice of working methods and methodologies
• Specifying the topic
• Drawing up and presenting a development plan

Competence in research and development methods in accordance with the curriculum.

- Student will work independently. Participation on tutorials and seminars as allocated is compulsory requirement for completing the course.

Attendance on orientation and seminars are compulsory. Attendance on tutorials as needed.
15 credits will be granted once the maturity exam and the work are evaluated.
The student must commit to a process.
The work must be completed within the given time.
Work must be completed by the end of February 2026 (exact dates will be confirmed on orientation) - Maturity exam takes place in March 2026.
