Objective

Students are able to:
Describe the basic features of microbiology and immunology in the following areas: virology, bacteriology, mycology, parasitology and associated diseases
Describe the basic features of microbiology and immunology in the following areas: antigens and antibodies, non-specific immunity, specific immunity, hypersensitivity response, autoimmunity, normal flora and its disorders, vaccinations.

Qualifications

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: Knowledge of general anatomy and physiology essential to the profession of optometrist.

The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: General Anatomy and Physiology.
