Objective

Students are able to:
Perform a monocular subjective refraction, including higher ametropias
Perform a subjective monocular refraction using following methods: fogging method, astigmatic dials, Jackson cross cylinder and duochrome methods
Perform a subjective binocular refraction using accommodation equalisation techniques
Use various equipment appropriately in refraction
Measure and evaluate eye movements at far and near distances
Record measurements in accordance with optometry guidelines.

Qualifications

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: Objective Refraction and Determination of Visual Acuity.

The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: Basics of the Eye Examination and Eye examination practise 1: Objective refraction.
