Objective

The student
• understands the general principles of animation
• understands the importance of sound as a tool for animation expression
• is able to produce short 2D animations.

Content

• Frame by frame animation
• Tween animation
• Laws of animation
• Animation cycles
• Sound in animation

Location and time

Teaching and assignment feedback are provided in person.
Practice exercises can be completed in any location, provided that the required tools and software are available.

Materials

Participation in the course does not require students to acquire any additional materials or literature.
Recommended literature: Richard Williams, Animator's Survival Kit

Content scheduling

The beginning of the course is lecture-oriented.
Toward the end of the course, the focus shifts to independent work on personal practice exercises.

Students will be able to create short 2D animations that follow the general laws of animation.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students will be able to create short 2D animations, applying the general laws of animation. They will be able to use sound in their animation expression.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students will be able to produce short, high-quality 2D animations, independently applying the general laws of animation. They can express themselves through animation and sound.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Students will create short 2D animations that follow the general laws of animation.
