Introduction to Clinical Practice (1 ECTS)

Learning outcomes

The student understands the osteopathic clinical process as a whole from the student’s and the client’s point of view. The student observes the work of student colleagues with clients in small groups. The student demonstrates an ability to work as part of a team in a clinical environment.

Content

- Introduction to practical training and the activities at HyMy Village, observing the work of a senior osteopathy student, introductory visit as a client
- Confidentiality obligation, ethical principles, collegiality, rules of conduct and hygiene

Location and time

Acquaintance with the practical internship according to the osteopathy degree at HyMy-kylä's Osteopathy services takes place during 8.10. - 31 December 2025.

Internship and working life connections

The student gets to know the Osteopathic services of HyMy village by observing fourth-year osteopath students.
The student gains customer experience with two free visits to the osteopathy student's office in HyMy village.

Student workload

1 credit corresponds to 27 hours of student work.
Students are divided into small groups at the beginning of the study.
