Objective

The student describes the philosophical foundations of osteopathy and osteopathic principles. They outline the key stages of osteopathy’s development from its historical origins to the present day. The student defines the national and international roles of an osteopath and explains essential osteopathic concepts. They familiarize themselves with research in the field and the osteopathic nomenclature.

The student is able to describe the core content, terminology, and key competencies of osteopathy, as well as its historical framework. They explain how osteopathic services are organized, recognize the essential components of high-quality osteopathy, and commit to their development. The student understands national and international professional networks in osteopathy and knows how to utilize them in both studies and professional practice.

The student is able to search for, critically evaluate, and justify the use of research-based osteopathic knowledge and professional practices, understanding the significance of evidence-based practice. They think critically, reflect on their own development as a future osteopath, and describe ethical best practices in research and professional development.

The student assesses and develops their learning methods and professional competence. They acquire, critically evaluate, and appropriately apply national and international knowledge in their field. The student takes responsibility for group learning and knowledge-sharing.

In this course, the student develops professional self-awareness and career planning skills. The course supports work-life readiness in osteopathy, including preparing job application documents, job search strategies, and understanding the importance of professional networking.

The student identifies their strengths and areas for development and learns how to apply them in professional practice. Additionally, the course covers entrepreneurship opportunities in osteopathy and preparation for entering the workforce after graduation.
