Objective

The student is able to describe the structure of a nerve cell, formation, and conduction of a nerve impulse in a cell and to the next cell. The student explains the development of nervous system, the basic structure of the nervous system and core functions of different parts of the nervous system. The student describes in detail the central nerves of a lower extremity, their locations and innervations of the muscle groups and skin areas. The student explains the core structures and functions of the circulatory system, lymphatic system, and respiratory system.

Content

-Nervous system developmental milestones
-Central nervous system structure, key functions: sensory, motor, and autonomic functions
-Principles of the peripheral nervous system
-Formation, location and innervation targets of lower extremity peripheral nerves
-Circulatory system
-Lymphatic system
-Respiratory system

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Mastery of the subject matter is at least 50 % of what is asked.
Students use foreign professional concepts systematically.
Students identify anatomical structures and repeat their meaning.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Mastery of the subject matter is at least 70 % of what is asked.
Students expertly use foreign professional concepts.
Students identify and describe anatomical structures and discover connections between structure and function.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Mastery of the subject matter is at least 90 % of what is asked.
Students use widely and expertly foreign professional concepts for example when answering essay questions.
Students identify anatomical structures and explain their function by analyzing connections between structure and function.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
