Objective

The student
• can utilise basic technical exercises for their main and secondary instruments to develop their instrumental skills and apply them in their own music-making
• develops their skills on their main instrument and gains proficiency in playing a secondary instrument (piano; for pianists, drums or another instrument agreed upon with the teacher responsible for instrumental studies)
• learns the playing/singing technique, rhythm, and phrasing required by their repertoire
• gains the ability to work in an ensemble and fosters the development of musical creativity and thinking.

Goal-oriented individual instruction and practice on the main and secondary instruments.

The student recognises their strengths and areas for improvement on their main and secondary instruments and can work determinedly towards their learning objectives.

Qualifications

Degree according to the extended syllabus level of basic education in music in Finland or equivalent skills and knowledge.
