Objective
The student understands the role of the media in Finnish society. They know the function and importance of Finnish media institutions. The student understands the practices and methods of the media professions of interest to them. They understand how to find employment in the media sector. The student understands the Finnish working culture and recognizes professional practices in the media sector.
Content
The course examines the role of the media in Finnish society and examines the functioning and significance of Finnish media institutions. The students will learn about the practices and methods of media professions and how to understand how to find employment in the media sector. A key objective is to increase students' understanding of the Finnish working culture and to identify professional practices in the media sector. All the exercises in the course cover media-related topics, such as concepts, working environments, different work situations and ethics. In addition, students will develop their skills to become media professionals and gain employment in the field.

Student has achieved the course objectives fairly. Student is able to identify and use the course subject area’s concepts and understands the conditions of knowledge and skills development.
