Studying mainly takes place independently in the Moodle learning environment, contact teaching (laboratories, simulations, learning cafe) takes place on campus. Some of the contact teaching will be organized as hybrid teaching (campus/Zoom).

First aid manual, Written and authorised by the UK´s leading first aid providers: The authorised manual of St John Ambulance, St Andrew´s First Aid and the British Red Cross, revised 10th edition, 2016.

Materials in Moodle and other materials provided by the teachers.

The student may use e-book, audiobook or similar versions of the books if available. If the student uses an earlier version of the textbook, they must verify the contents.

All assignments and materials are under the Copyright Act (404/61) and a teacher has the copyright. Assignments and materials are not allowed to be distributed or used in any other way. Distributing materials are only allowed if the teacher grants the permit.

Further information

The student confirms their participation in this course by attending the orientation lesson. Participation in the orientation is compulsory. If the student is ill, they can confirm their place on the course by informing the teacher beforehand.

Clinical laboratory teaching and simulations require compulsory attendance, and students are required to wear appropriate protective uniforms. Instructions given in asepsis lectures are to be obeyed during practices. Approved completion requires that the student actively practices the themes of the lesson in a patient-safe manner, utilizing guidance and feedback given by the teacher.

Clinical skills are reviewed independently in a skills workshop during the course.

A separate U!REKA-course module (1 ECTS) will be completed during the course.

Finnish language teaching has been integrated into the course.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:
AI can be used for brainstorming when planning written assignments, but it should not be used as a substitute for own thinking and writing. Correcting the language of a self-generated text is allowed, but writing entire texts using AI is not. If you use AI, its use must be described transparently. Failure to describe the use of AI will be considered as misconduct (cheating). RPL:
The course will be credited if the student has completed the practical nurse's degree, excluding the U!REKA-module, which will be completed on a separate Moodle platform.
