Objective
After the course, the students recognize and are able to use terminology of their own field in Finnish, and they are able to interpret and deliver the essential, field-specific information.
The students are able to assess their own language skills and know how to improve it independently after the professional studies.
Content
Practicing field-specific Finnish communication and terminology according to the language skills required in the professional field. The content focuses on real-life situations and needs at work. The lecturer guides the studies or recommends a suitable self-study method and material.
This course is aimed for one that has immigration background and speaks Finnish in B1-level. Teaching in slow, plain Finnish (called selkosuomi). Lectures are at the day-time and requires active participation. Course requires a lot of time used outside the classroom. Studying requires accounting skills, previous education or work experience.

The student has achieved the goals of the course. He/she knows the key concepts, terminology, and expressions of the profession and is able to use them for different purposes. He/she is able to acquire information, produce oral and written texts, and interact. The student has the ability to apply what he/she has learned in working life situations. He/she is able to analyse the competence required in the profession and studies in the field and the development of his/her own competence.
