Objective
The student knows the basics of sound recording and uses the recording equipment specified for each production. They can plan, execute and edit sound professionally. They know the principles of sound expression, sound design and acoustics, and the potential of multi-channel sound in sound expression. The student knows the different professional roles and their responsibilities. They know how to plan and schedule their own work. They can give and receive feedback. They can take into account the principles of sustainable production practices in sound recording and post-production processes.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student participates in class and completes assignments satisfactorily. The student is able to edit audio material satisfactorily and to use the recording equipment specified for each production. The student knows satisfactorily how to conceive and produce sound for the works produced during the course. They are able to work satisfactorily as part of a group.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student participates in class and completes the assignments well. The student will be able to plan and schedule their own work. The student will be able to edit audio material and use the recording equipment specified for each production. They can independently develop ideas and produce narrative sound for works produced during the course. The student is able to work confidently as part of a group and is able to evaluate their own work well.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student participates in the class with distinction and completes assignments with excellence. The student is able to plan and schedule their work fluently. The student is able to design, produce and edit sound professionally and to apply what they have learned. The student will master and understand the importance of sound in storytelling. They work actively as part of a team and are able to evaluate their own work excellently.
