Objective

On completion of the course the student
• knows the basic skills of programming and databases
• is familiar with the tools and processes used in programming, and realise their importance in software production
• is able to use version control as part of programming work
• is familiar with mathematical-scientific concepts and tools that form the basis of engineering education
• understands the connection of these contents to different aspects of information and communication technology and is able to apply the methods they have learned in practical problem solving
• is able to act as an active member of a project group and communicate in English appropriately in oral and written interaction situations typical for project work.

After completing the basic information security course, the student will be able to handle information appropriately, identify the most common information security threats and be prepared to meet the requirements of working life in terms of information security skills.

The student

The student
• has achieved the objectives of the course well, although there are still areas where knowledge and skills need to be improved
• has a good understanding of the concepts and models of the subject matter of the course and is able to carry out a reasoned analysis
• is able to apply what they have learned in learning and working life situations
• understands the importance of expertise in the field and is able to analyse their own expertise.

The student
