Objective

The student
• understands the function of a digital camera and knows how to choose suitable camera settings according to the circumstances
• can use the camera manually in studio conditions
• is able to shoot in raw format and understands the basics of colour management
• is able to evaluate their images and knows how to post-process them if necessary, e.g. with colour and tone corrections; knows how to optimise the image for different uses.

Content

• The basics of photography technology and digital photography
• Basics of studio lighting, photographing different objects in studio conditions
• Basics of image processing from a photographer's perspective

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• knows the operation of a digital camera and knows how to choose appropriate camera settings according to the circumstances
• knows how to use the camera manually in the studio
• masters shooting in raw format and understands the basics of colour management
• knows how to evaluate their photos and knows how to post-process them if necessary, e.g. with colour and tone corrections and optimise the image for different purposes.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• has a good command of the operation of a digital camera and knows how to choose suitable camera settings according to the circumstances
• knows how to use the camera manually in the studio
• masters shooting in raw format and understands the basics of colour management
• knows how to evaluate their pictures and knows how to post-process them if necessary, e.g. with colour and tone corrections and optimise the image for different purposes.

The student knows the concepts and basics of photography, and is familiar with photography tools and techniques.
