Objective
The student
• knows the components in a modern vehicle equipped with an electric powertrain, key component specifications and the relationship between components and vehicle key features: range, environmental factors and vehicle manufacturing costs
• knows different battery and electric engine techniques, charge standards and practical examples of production vehicle applications
• knows electric vehicle strengths and weaknesses compared to other powertrain solutions, including environmental and societal points of view.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course assessment consists of two parts, examn (80%) and laboratory report (20%). Successful completion of the course requires an approved performance both in the examn and in the laboratory report.
