Objective
The students are able to recognize and assess the needs for research and development that are important for work life and clients using services. The students master the general starting points and basics of research and development activities and are able to apply them to develop work life in their own field of education.
The students are able to acquire, evaluate and critically justify research-based knowledge and professional practices in their field. The students master the basics of critical thinking, forming concepts and theory, and they understand the importance of the conception of knowledge in the development activities. The students base their activities on good research and development ethics and understand the importance of data protection. The students know the basics of planning research and development activities and the contents of the research plan, and they understand the importance of making a research plan.
Content
The starting points, the nature and process of research and development activities. Knowledge and obtaining information. Critical thinking and justification. Principles of forming a concept and a theory. The conception of knowledge. Assessing information and professional practices produced in the research and development of one's own
professional field. Planning research and development activities. Ethics and data protection of research and development activities.

Lisäksi itsenäinen opiskelu ja oman opiskeluaikataulun laatiminen.
Opiskelija vahvistaa paikkansa opintojaksototeutuksella olemalla läsnä opetuksen alkaessa 25.3 opetuskerralla.

Uusintatenttien (2) ajankohdat tarkentuvat myöhemmin ja ne ilmoitetaan lähiopetuksen yhteydessä.
Student workload
5 op = 135 h opiskelijan työtä, joka koostuu lähiopetukseen osallistumisesta (8h), tentistä (3h), lisäksi tehtävistä, itsenäisestä opiskelusta sekä tenttiin valmistautumisesta (yhteensä 124h). Ennakkotehtävä mahdollinen.
Kaikki tehtävät tulee olla hyväksytysti tehty opintojakson aikana, jotta opintojaksosta voi saada hyväksytyn arvioinnin. Myöhästyneet tehtävät johtavat arvosanan alentamiseen tai opintojakson hylkäämiseen, jolloin opintojaksolle tulee ilmoittautua ja se tulee suorittaa kokonaan uudelleen.
Palauttamalla verkkotentin tai verkkototeutuksen tehtävät opiskelija vakuuttaa osaamisen osoittamisensa perustuvan itsenäiseen tekemiseen ja eettiseen toimintaan. Vilppi voi johtaa jopa vuoden määräaikaiseen erottamiseen ammattikorkeakoulusta. Ammattikorkeakoululaki 932/2014, 38 §. Verkkototeutuksen itsenäisen osaamisen varmistamiseksi opettaja voi harkintansa mukaan edellyttää osaamisen osoittamista valvotuissa olosuhteissa tai suullisella tentillä. Opettaja tiedottaa osaamisen näyttötavasta viimeistään opinnon alkaessa.

Opintojakso on tarkoitettu ryhmän SXH24K2 opiskelijoille.
Mahdollinen AHOT -hakemus tulee tehdä ajoissa ennen opintojakson alkamista, huomioiden käsittelyaika.
Mikäli opiskelijalla on erityisen tuen päätös, joka vaikuttaa opintojakson suorittamiseen, tulee opiskelijan olla yhteydessä opintojaksototeutuksen vastuuopettajaan heti ilmoittautumisajan päätyttyä.
