Objective
On completion of the course, the student
• can responsibly develop innovative practical and concrete solutions, practices, products or services with multidisciplinary partners to meet the diverse future needs and current challenges in the metropolitan area
• is able to define the concept of innovation and take development methods into use
• is able to apply project and network-based work, creativity and competence in regional, national or international development work

Content
• The concept of innovation, development work management and building a development team
• Collaborative project and innovation work and assessment: brainstorming, future-oriented conceptualisation and design, customer and user understanding, contracts and copyrights, communicating, publishing, productisation, marketing and implementation planning
• Multidisciplinary teamwork, stakeholder activities and networking
• Innovation development tools and methods

Some of the project challenges are completely controlled online, and to participate in them, the student is required to use the camera in Team or Zoom.
The student confirms his / her place in the course implementation by being present in the course orientation. If a student is unable to participate in the orientation due to illness, he / she confirms his / her place with the course implementation by sending a confirmation message to teacher in charge.
Employer connections
Project challenges are work-life related.
Available projects will be published in OMA before the implementation begins.
Project groups are formed multidisciplinary and according to the needs of the customers.

1 op = 27 hours of student work

Content scheduling
Joint orientation 26.5.2025 in Zoom.
Pre-assignment (Instructions will be announced before the implementation begins). Submission of the pre-assignment must be completed by 26.5.2025 to OMA workspace.
The first project-specific meeting will be announced in a project challenge description. It is eccential to attend the meetings during the first week. The first customer (=working life partner) meeting will take place on the first project week according to the project-specific timetable.
In June: Weekly meetings with your project coach on Mon-Thu, two times per week. Otherwise independent project work.
In July project teams work independently.
Submission of all assignments by 31.7.2025.
In August project coach will organise a feedback session.
The course requires active input. Active participation in the coach sessions is required. The course consists of independent study and project work according to the implementation plan of one's project group, online coach sessions, and tasks related to the project work.

INTENSIVE STUDY COURSE: Attendance is required throughout the course
Registration for project is done with an e-form. Failure to register for the project may prevent access to the course. Available projects will be published in OMA later.
Students will be informed of their placement in project groups before the first project meeting.
First project meeting: The exact place and time are indicated in the project blank form.
Summer course duration 26.5. - 31.7.2025 + feedback session with the project coach in August.
Project groups work independently according to a project plan and monitor their working hours.
NOTE: You must have at least 60 ECTS in order to participate on this course.
