Location and time

100% individual & virtual . No contact teaching nor orientation. All info & materials in Moodle where student may work independently & within own timing. Name of the Moodle-workspace Sosiaali- ja terveysalan ammatillinen perusosaaminen SX00EW17- Syksy 25 - Kevät 26. Enrollment key not required. The workspace will open on June 1, 2025, after which you can start studying on your own schedule. Return of the learning assignment during the course.

Return of learning assignments and documents by the last day of each month, after which they will be assessed within four working weeks after completion. Assignments returned during summer (by 10.8.) are assessed in the end of August 2025, first assessments in autumn semester will be done in September and from that monthly.

Further information

The course is intended for both students who have prior degree of a practical nurse and students in degree programme in nursing, who have working experience in social and health sector in client / patient contact before or during their studies.

All relevant work experience in health care sector is accepted, eg the duties of a practical nurse (lähihoitaja), also work performed incompetently, eg caregiver with suitable care duties. Please notice that this study is only for degree students who have a possibility to do elective studies.

The course consists of an independent learning task and previous work experience in social and health care field. The written task is required in each case, regardless of whether an application is based on work experience or a practical nurse degree.

There is continuous registration for the study. Instructions for completing the course in the Moodle workspace: Sosiaali- ja terveysalan ammatillinen perusosaaminen SX00EW17- Syksy 25-Kevät 26. Enrollment key not required. The workspace opens 1.6.25 and you may start completing the task in your own schedule. If you are interested in participating in this course, enroll to the study unit AND Moodle, read the instructions in Moodle very carefully and proceed according to the instructions. In case of doubt, read the instructions in Moodle carefully, if you do not find the answer in the instructions in Moodle, please contact the teacher in charge of the course. Assessment methods and criteria

Scale: Pass/Fail
Methods: Learning Assignment & documents related to work experience.
Return of learning assignments and documents by the last day of each month, after which they will be assessed within four working weeks. You can return the documents and the assignment already during summer of 2025. Work returned by 10.8. will be evaluated in August 2025. The first evaluations of the fall semester are done in September and thereafter monthly. The assignments returned by the end of December will be evaluated in January 2026.
