Objective
On completion of the course, the student
• can responsibly develop innovative practical and concrete solutions, practices, products or services with multidisciplinary partners to meet the diverse future needs and current challenges in the metropolitan area
• is able to define the concept of innovation and take development methods into use
• is able to apply project and network-based work, creativity and competence in regional, national or international development work

Content
• The concept of innovation, development work management and building a development team
• Collaborative project and innovation work and assessment: brainstorming, future-oriented conceptualisation and design, customer and user understanding, contracts and copyrights, communicating, publishing, productisation, marketing and implementation planning
• Multidisciplinary teamwork, stakeholder activities and networking
• Innovation development tools and methods
Location and time
The kick-off lecture and the final seminar are mandatory sessions, scheduled in the official timetable. Attendance at both sessions is compulsory.
The project work can be carried out according to a schedule agreed upon by each project team.
Materials
All course-related materials will be distributed via the Moodle workspace.
Teaching methods
This is a project-based course in which students work on challenges provided by external clients. The course includes a mandatory kick-off lecture, where practical matters, instructions, and the schedule of the course are introduced. At the end of the course, a final seminar is held, during which the outcomes of the projects are presented.
The course consists of a 7 ECTS project component and a 3 ECTS communication component.
The course's Moodle platform is used for sharing materials and submitting assignments.

Around 190 hours are allocated to the project work and 80 hours to Finnish communication studies (not for exchange students)
For exchange student: project 10 OP=270h
Project teams are responsible for planning and managing their own project schedules in accordance with the allocated working hours.

-Tekoälyä voi käyttää harjoitustehtävien raportoinnin hienosäätöön (pilkut, oikeinkirjoitus) mutta sillä ei saa tuottaa koko harjoitustehtävää.
- Teköaälyä voi hyödyntyy kokousmuistioiden laatimisessa, josta kuitenkin tulee sopia yhdessä kaikkien projektikokouksiin osallistuvien kanssa
-Tekoälyä ei suositella käytettävän tietolähteenä esim. harjoitustehtävien tekemisessä, sillä se tuottaa väärää tietoa ja vääriä vastauksia
Tekoälyn käytöstä tulee mainita kaiken raportoinnin yhteydessä myös silloinkin kun sitä on käytetty esim. raportoinnin hienosäätöön. Tähän merkintää voi katsoa apua opinnäytetyöohjeesta.
