Objective

Learning outcomes
The students recognize the importance of one's own persona in the client relationships of occupational therapy. The students know the ethical principles of occupational therapy, an understanding of client relationships, the basics of client orientation and factors related to professional interaction. The students become familiar with the client processes in occupational therapy and the steps of the occupational therapy process. The students recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship at different steps of the occupational therapy process. The students are aware of the impact of the operating environment and the professional interaction when building a therapeutic relationship.

- Therapeutic relationship as part of the occupational therapy process
- Client orientation in occupational therapy
- Professionally encountering the client
- Professional interaction when building a therapeutic relationship
- Impact of the operating environment when building a therapeutic relationship, including the virtual and online environments.

In contact teaching working happens in groups and we utilize the sharing of knowledge from experiences in learning. Active participation and presence is useful for one`s own learning.

The students are able to name some of parts of their own persona and identify their meanings in the client relationships of the occupational therapist. The students are able to name some of the ethical principles related to the client work in occupational therapy. The students recognize some of the basic principles related to interaction and are able to name the steps of the occupational therapy process. The students recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship at different steps of the occupational therapy process and the importance of the environment when building the relationship.

The students are able to name and describe parts of their own persona in a versatile way and recognize their meanings in the client relationships of the occupational therapists. The students are able to define ethical principles related to the client work in occupational therapy and bring up the related possibilities to apply them. The students recognize the principles related to interaction well and identify and separate the different steps of the occupational therapy process. The students recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship at different steps of the occupational therapy process and are able to bring up possibilities to apply them. The students recognize the importance of the environment when building a relationship and are able to identify opportunities and challenges in different environments.
