Objective

The student is able to recognize the most common disorders of the knee, hip and pelvic area structure and functions, differential diagnostics and the principles of their rehabilitation. The student is able to apply joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise and taping options to the advance the function and rehabilitation of knee, hip and pelvic area. The student is able to apply instructional skills while instructing client groups. The student is able to apply therapeutic exercises as a part of the client’s daily functions. The student is able to describe the therapeutic effect of soft tissue massaging, is able to perform massage and apply massaging as a part of other podiatric therapy. The student is able to apply physical therapeutic modalities and knows their indicators.

The student is able to use different methods for treating pain. The student is able to describe the basics of pain epidemiology and is able to explain the basics of pain sensory and pain classification in a biopsychosocial context. The student is able to assess pain using versatile methods. The student is able to describe the indicators and actions of common pain medications as well as recognizes their commercial names.

-Therapeutic effects and indicators of the soft tissue massage in podiatry
-Massage techniques and performance for lower extremities
-Instructing therapeutic exercises for groups
-Treatment and treatment methods for pain
-Physical therapeutic modalities in podiatry
-Pharmaceutical treatment of pain
-The application of taping, mobilization and therapeutic exercise in rehabilitation of different functional disorders
