Objective
The student is able to explain the factors related to the cause and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders. The student can combine previously learned skills and select appropriate assessment and therapy methods for the purpose of supporting musculoskeletal function. The student is familiar with the basics of taping and is able to implement joint mobilisation. The student can guide the client’s objectives and content-supporting self-care and assess the results of chosen physiotherapy methods. The student can operate in multidisciplinary collaboration and together with working life partners.

The most common musculoskeletal disorders, activity and participation limitations as well as pathological processes in their background
Selection and use of appropriate physiotherapeutic assessment and therapy methods
Interaction, therapeutic exercise and manual therapy as methods of physiotherapy
Assessment and monitoring of selected physiotherapy methods and the results of physiotherapy

Learning material:David J. Magee, Robert C. Manske: Orthopedic physical assessment, 7th edition, 2021. Saunders Elsevier (to be announced about this book) and material of the course

Due to course updates, extremities mobilization and therapeutic taping will be covered in the musculoskeletal physiotherapy 2 course.
