Clinical oral health care of young people and adults (5 ECTS)

Objective

Student
- performs an oral check-up for a young person and adult (gingivitis or early-stage periodontitis) and interprets changes in the mouth and teeth
- is able to plan, implement and assess individually the early treatment of tooth decay and gum diseases while ensuring patient safety
- is able to take into account the effects of health behaviour on oral health
- is able to document the patient's treatment in the patient information system
- is able to perform in-surgery whitening for a peer student

Student is obliged to participate clinical practise and do patientwork 80% min.
Instructions on the use of artificial intelligence during the course are given separately. Students should familiarise themselves with Metropolia's AI guidelines and follow them in their study attainments.
