The project will be implemented on the following themes:
- Practical Perspectives on Radiation Protection: Dose Optimization of CT, Dose Management of Radiation Studies and Risk Communication (lecture teaching)
- Practical perspectives to acute medical imaging

The student participates in lectures and writes a lecture diary. Attendance at lectures is compulsory. Lectures cannot be replaced by assignments.

In the project, we work together with international students in Modern Technology in Cancer Care. The contact days are mandatory and take place on 10.-11.11.11 and 14.11.2025

The course will take place in Autumn 2025. The schedule can be found in the timetable.

The course cannot be completed using optional methods of completion.

The course does not include any clinical practice.

Exam dates and retake possibilities

The course must be completed by 21.12.2025. If the assignments or the learning diary are not returned by the given date, the course is failed.

Lectures are mandatory.

The course includes international collaboration (1 ECTS)

Student workload

The total length of the course is 135 hours, which is equivalent to 5 credits of student work.

Course workload:
- Swedish 1 credit (three lectures, assignments and demonstration of competence)
- Lectures and learning diary 3 credit (six lectures and writing of learning diary)
- Cancer week 1 credit (Compulsory attendance on three teaching days and reading a scientific article)

The advanced project in radiography and radiotherapy is carried out under the theme "Advanced perspectives in diagnostics and cancer care".
Attendance at lectures is compulsory. Lectures cannot be replaced by assignments.

Further information for students

By completing the assignments of the online exam or online implementation, the student assures that the demonstration of competence is based on independent work and ethical action. Cheating can lead to a temporary expulsion from a university of applied sciences for up to a year. Universities of Applied Sciences Act 932/2014, Section 38. In order to ensure independent competence in the online implementation, the teacher may, at their discretion, require the demonstration of competence in supervised conditions or by means of an oral examination. The teacher informs about the method of demonstrating competence at the beginning of the studies at the latest.

All assignments and materials prepared by the teacher are works in accordance with the Copyright Act (404/61) for which the teacher has the copyright. The assignments and materials may not be used other than in their own studies. Their public distribution is only allowed with the teacher's permission.

Instructions on the use of artificial intelligence during the course are given separately.

Assessment methods and criteria

Evaluation is based on:
- attendance on lectures
- learning diary
- lectures, assignments and competence evaluation of Swedish as second language

The course is evaluated numerically for Swedish and HYV/HYL for project work. The grade of the course is recorded based on your own Swedish language performance.
Please note that if your language of education has been Swedish, you do not need to complete the Swedish part of the course.
