Objective
A introduction to the fundamentals of the atomic and microscopic structure of metals, polymers, ceramics and composite materials. How these structures affect the physical properties of materials, and are partially determined by fabrication. Consideration of the economic, societal, and environmental implications of material choices in engineering.
